Motion Black&White
Motion Reflection
The fast shutter picture that I’m going to focus on is the very first image in the photoset of the flag in the air. The shutter speed to take this photo was 1/1600. The ISO setting was at 200 and the WB was set at cloudy. The action frozen was me tossing a 1 ½ on my flag used for color guard. The flag was stopped in the air. The distance of the shot was at least 7 feet. Line, shape, and strong colors are all elements used in this photo.
The slow shutter speed photo being focused on is the image of two girls moving their arms and upper bodies. The shutter speed was set to about 1/5. The ISO was set to 400 and the WB was set to preset. The motion showing blur is where their arms and heads are because they are not clearly defined as actual limbs. The distance between the camera and the subjects was only about 4 feet. Shape strongly enhances the photograph because of the way the motion makes their arms flow so smoothly.

Painting with Light
Painting With Light Reflection
One of my photos from painting with light is a big, orange swirly line. The shutter speed was set to 13” and I created this photo using a battery operated tealight candle. My helper, Allie, simply turned the candle on in the dark and moved it around near her face for the entire 13 seconds to give a special glow, illuminating her face in the depths of the image. The image gives off a rather dark, slightly sinister feeling because of the face hidden in the back. A viewer would probably feel slightly disturbed by seeing the photo only if they were to notice the face in the back. Otherwise, they may just enjoy to movement created in this photograph.
