Cold Feethome |
This image was one I had taken for the self portrait assignment. I had imagined in my head a photo that gives off a melancholy, eerie feeling when you look at it. The combination of dead flowers and bare feet had helped me achieve this for the photo's mood. A use of leading lines, contrasting colors, depth and repetition compose the photograph. I positioned myself in the center of the foreground in order to draw the viewer's eye there. I placed my camera on a tripod on my porch with the self-timer set for 10 seconds. After setting my Iso to 200 and shutter speed to 1/1600, I had to go back and forth to get the picture I had envisioned.

This photograph was taken for the aperture photo assignment. I used a fluorescent light and used a shallow depth of field. This allows for the keys in the background to be blurred and the single key in the foreground to be in focus. I used an ISO of 400 and a shutter speed of 1/125. The f-stop was f/5.6. I stood directly in front of the subject and positioned myself with the angle pointed straight ahead. This photo conveys the feeling of having a place to call home. Leaving for college brings out that love of home and reminds you that home is where the heart is.

In this photo, I used triple exposure to manipulate typography and the keys of a typewriter. I used a self portrait and use the typewriter and typography as an overlay. The shutter speed for this photo was 1/100, the ISO was 1600 and the f-stop was f/5.6. I used fluorescent lighting and positioned the camera directly in front of me. This photo is visually pleasing because I am centered directly in the middle of the frame, making it easy to identify a focal point.
