Lighting: The light is positioned down low behind the model. It is creating a halo around the model. It illuminates their shape but still shows their face and body.
Position of the model: The model is sitting on a stool sitting straight ahead but they are sat closer to the edge of the photo. This is not a head shot because it includes more of the torso. The model is looking directly at the camera.
Position of the camera/composition: The camera was positioned directly at the model and at no angle. The camera was positioned three or four feet in front of the model.
Impact/expression: The lighting and look on the model's face conveys a feeling of joy and bliss. The smile on the model's face insinuates that the model is laughing.
In comparison to the 2nd photo, the lighting in the first is brighter and the look on the model's face is happier. In the 2nd photo, the light isn't as bright, it is a more natural lighting and the expression on the model's face is much more serious.

Self Portraits
To create these photos, I used a self timer set to 10 seconds. These were all set during day time and taken in different areas around my house including my porch and my living room. I considered the use of positive and negative space, framing and the rule of thirds. I used an auto white balance for these photos. The shutter speed was 1/125 and the ISO was 200. My self portraits are not "selfies" because I did not take them myself. I used a self timer on my camera to take these photos.
Double Exposure
For this double exposure assignment, I'm going to reflect on the image of the flower with typography over it. The three images used were a flower, tree bark, and an image of part of a poem I wrote on my typewriter. Two of the images are natural, while the third embodies the phrase directly relating to the flower itself. The tree bark was made more translucent and was slowly erased as i got closer to the center of the flower. The writing was edited to stand out more against the colorful background. The image took many steps to be created and was very time consuming and tedious. These images all related because they had to do with nature. Even the typography mentions flowers. It creates this idea that this beautiful flower is the same one that the poem speaks of. It shows that I spent an entire day photographing this one flower and this is the end product.
